What You’ll Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Interstate (Class A) Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean 3-year driving record. Hazmat and Tanker endorsements are preferred but not required (we will train).
  • One year CDL driving experience.
  • Need to be able to drive a manual transmission.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Previous experience operating vacuum and roll-off units is preferred.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including respirators. We will train.
  • Ability and willingness to work on an on-call basis once every 5 weeks
  • English language proficiency

What It’s Like Driving for NEDT

Class A&B CDL drivers are an integral part of NEDT’s team, responsible for performing driving and some labor activities as necessary to assist in completing field projects at customer locations in New England. Our Drivers load, unload, and operate tractor trailers, tankers, box, roll-off, vacuum, dump, and other equipment while performing driving and operating duties associated with industrial projects such as industrial tank cleaning, facility shutdown, emergency spill cleanup and response, site remediation, and hazardous and non-hazardous waste transportation. These positions will drive an average of 70% of the time and will work onsite as part of the team assisting in the operations the remainder of the time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure NEDT health and safety goals by following policies and procedures.
  • Drive and operate a variety of Class A & B equipment.
  • Load and offload at customer sites and disposal facilities.
  • Complete and maintain daily logs, time sheets, and reports.
  • Work outside year-round in all types of weather.
  • Interact with NEDT staff, technicians, and customers professionally.
